FH and I started visiting potential NEPA wedding venues last week, so I’ve got a lot to dish about. Our first trip was to the Apple Tree Terrace, at the Newberry Estates in Dallas. Apple Tree doesn’t have it’s own website, but they are run by the same company as the Highlands at the Newberry Estate.
I’d say they are at the higher end of our price range, but not completely out of reach. As I expected, the room and the surrounding areas are very lovely:
A view from the opposite direction.
The chairs seem nice enough that we wouldn’t have to do any crazy upgrades.
If it’s not too chilly for October, we could have part of the cocktail hour outside, or at least a smoker’s section.
Some of the outside. A pretty spot for pictures.
Most things are included in their packages, like the wedding cake. Centerpieces are separate. All in all, these guys are pros. They know what needs to be done and if we went there, I know it would be top notch. The only thing that really eats away at me is knowing that they are nowhere as nearly invested in our wedding as we are. If we don’t book them, they’ll easily fill our date. While I don’t expect any venue to bend over backwards for us, this still just doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t need my venue to act like they’re better than me and my business.
We’ll see what happens, cause like I said, any wedding here will be a beautiful event. We still have sites to visit so I’m dwelling on it. Have you ever visited a venue and loved it, but were put off by ‘attitude’?

I’ve not had the issue with venues, since we aren’t booking venues, but I did have an issue with the dress. When I was looking for my dress I went to a couple of places that were less than friendly and helpful, one of which was David’s Bridal. I ended up going with a local store instead who were extremely helpful and genuinely happy for people.

Yeah it’s surprising since you think they’d WANT our money. It’s their loss at the end of the day.

I just started looking for reception halls in nepa and i was wondering if you could tell me pricing for this place?

Hi! I’d be happy to share some information. How is your search going so far? If you have an idea what part of NEPA you’re interest in, I’d gladly share what I’ve found. Their packages tended to average around $65 per person. The plus is that it included all your booze, wedding cake, tax and gratuity. Many places quote the price without tax and tip, but this was all rolled in. They had some smaller, less expensive packages as well, but the ones I looked at the most were in that range.
Hope that helps!
