Oh those are all some pretty good choices. Good luck with the Golden Palace – they were great putting up with all of my questions and had a lot of options. I also liked them because they had a package that came with cake and centerpieces. Let me know how it goes for you!

We looked at a few places: Gramercy Ballroom in Pittston, Genetti’s in W-B, and Knights of Columbus in Luzerne. I’n not completely taken by any of them, but I think the KOC banquet hall has potential, especially if we decorate it ourselves. We have an appointment at the Golden Palace next Saturday. I am PRAYING it works out! We were actually considering the courthouse — rent that big, white tent and all. But I wonder if that would be a headache to plan… plus, it might be a bad idea considering all the bad karma there in the past year. haha

Buhdoop – Thanks so much! We’re so happy with them. I’m probably partial, but I think they’re great to do even if you just get a quick session. Or even borrow a friend who’s handy with a camera and have them take a few.

Aly – awww thank you so much! You don’t know how much it means to have local brides actually commenting and getting value out of this. I got engaged in May as well, and it’s been quite a process figuring things out. Where are you looking to get married in NEPA? I saw a bunch of places – we’re having our reception at the Golden Palace. It’s very pretty and a little more affordable. If I think of any other good ones I visited I will share!

Very cute photos! I stumbled across your blog while Googling “banquet hall NEPA.” So glad you put this together; it’s been so helpful (LOVE the zombie cake!). My fiance and I were engaged in May, and I’m just now starting wedding planning. I’m having such a tough time finding a place that’s elegant, yet affordable. And so the hunt continues!
