All right, this one is almost cliche but I looove it so you have to allow it. Well, really, it’s my blog so I ALLOW IT. :D

Enjoy!

This week’s song might actually be sappier than I can actually stand. It’s what Brian McKnight does best and would make an amazing first dance song. I don’t know if it’s “us” enough to qualify, but I’d love to feature it some time during our reception. What do you guys think?

The Rest Of My Life – Brian McKnight

I loves me some blues, and Stevie Ray Vaugn is one of my favorites. This is an up tempo song, so I don’t know that it would make a good first dance song, unless you’re feeling adventurous.

I’d really like to find a way to incorporate this. Maybe during introductions? During cocktail hour? Any ideas?

This is the be all and end all of “us” songs. FH and I had our first kiss during Free Bird (awwwww, barf, right?). And you don’t have to remind me what a sad song it is. We know, and it pisses us off that it wouldn’t be a good first dance song. Cause who’s willing to sit through a 10 minute first dance? I’m not willing to DO a 10 minute dance. And really, this isn’t the theme we’re shooting for on our wedding day:

Sweet Jesus. *shudders*

However, I think we hit on a good solution – we’ll make it the final song of the night, then go rocking off into the sunset. Yeah.

You people love themes right? Themed weddings, themed entries, whatever. How about we try this one on for size: every Sunday I post a new sap happy song that I’m mulling over for the wedding playlist. There are 64 Sundays between now and our wedding. I think I can come up with 64 love songs. Easy. Peasy.

I’m going to start with what’s possibly the best song to describe how I feel about FH – “Everything” by Alanis Morissette. It’s a bit scattered and it’s dark at parts, but then you step back and see how amazing and beautiful it is. Yeah. :D

Bagpipes!!!

How awesome is this?

I WANT THIS. I’ve told a few people about my yearning for a bagpipe entrance and the reaction is mixed. Half love it, and the other half think I’m nuts. It all depends on the final location (2o people in a garden doesn’t work, but 70 in a church, yes!), but I already have a piper who’s willing to do it (hi Jim!!). Jim’s family has been with the Wyoming Valley Pipe and Drum band for a quite a while. Which means we’ve been following them on their St. Patty’s pub crawls for quite a while. They’re top notch, if anyone else planning a Northeast Pennsylvania wedding has pipe dreams like mine. ;-)
